This vehicle achieves an EPA-estimated 90 MPGe, which comes from the engine, permanent magnet AC synchronous motor, and electric battery.¹ Plus, the SUBARU BOXER® charges the battery, even when you can't plug in. As a result, you won't run out of electric power as long as there's gas power, and you can get up to 480 miles of total vehicle range.

Short commutes or long trips are easy when you have a flexible engine and hybrid battery, like the one found inside the Crosstrek Hybrid:

• Gas and Electric Blend: For everyday travels, your Crosstrek Hybrid will pull its power both from your gas and electric sources of power. Energy is pulled first from your battery to maximize efficiency.
• All-Electric: When you're wanting to maximize your fuel efficiency, driving in an all-electric mode will help you achieve these gas-saving goals.
• Gas Only: If you plan to do a lot of electric driving later, but have a longer trip ahead of you first, you can enable Battery Save Mode. When enabled, energy is pulled from gas, holding your battery level.
