2022 Subaru Outback
Starting off the 2022 Subaru Outback lineup is the base trim, simply called the Outback. It comes with a 2.5L BOXER® 4-cylinder engine that delivers 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque. With all that power comes great fuel economy, as the vehicle achieves an EPA-estimated 26 city/33 highway MPG.*
Since the vehicle is so fuel efficient, you can spend hours driving around town. You could even go off-roading if you'd like, as the crossover comes standard with X-MODE® and Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive.
Inside the vehicle, you'll find plenty of room for five riders, along with features like a SUBARU STARLINK™ Dual 7.0-inch Multimedia infotainment system. It comes with lots of impressive technologies, like Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. With this kind of smartphone integration, your maps, phone contacts, and more can be easily accessed through the car's display screen.
Subaru Outback Premium
Next up is the Outback Premium trim, which comes with the same performance specs as mentioned above.
Plus, like the standard trim, this one has 109 cubic feet of passenger volume. If you're riding solo, fold down that back row to get 75.7 cubic feet of maximum cargo room. Whether you're going camping or just to the grocery store, you'll have the space you need to load up all your gear.
How this trim differs from the one above is by some of its features. These include heated front seats, plus a 10-way power adjustable driver's seat. So, not only can you easily get comfortable behind the wheel, but you'll also be cozy on especially chilly nights.
Subaru Outback Limited
You then have the Outback Limited. Again, this trim has those same performance specs mentioned above.
Instead of cloth upholstery, though, you now have leather seating. Plus, the heated feature extends to the back row, keeping everyone on board nice and warm.
Finally, you have dual-zone climate control, which can also be found in the Premium. If you and your copilot disagree on cabin temperature, just adjust the individual settings so you can both be happy.
Subaru Outback Touring
The last trim to come with the 2.5L engine is the Touring. Performance stays the same, which also includes a 2,700-pound maximum towing capacity. If you want to bring along a pop-up tent trailer or a personal watercraft on your next weekend getaway, the Outback makes it easy to do so.
This trim still has those cozy heated front seats. Now, however, they get a cooling feature as well. Even in the heat of summer, you can enjoy ventilation and remain comfy in your seat.
A heated steering wheel is now standard, too. With just the push of a button, you can warm up your hands in seconds or soothe them after a long day.
Subaru Outback Limited XT
The Outback Limited XT trim is the first one to come with a 2.4L SUBARU BOXER® turbo 4-cylinder engine. This one produces even more power for your vehicle: 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque, to be exact. Fuel economy changes a bit, as well, with an EPA-estimated 23 city/30 highway MPG.*
Inside this trim is a SUBARU STARLINKâ„¢ 11.6-inch Multimedia Navigation infotainment system. You still get all kinds of features found inside the previously mentioned system, including:
- Bluetooth® compatibility
- SiriusXM® All Access Radio
- SUBARU STARLINKâ„¢ cloud-based apps
However, you also get HD Radioâ„¢. This feature gives you even more stations to listen to beyond the standard AM/FM. Plus, all your media options are shown nicely on an 11.6-inch display screen.
Subaru Outback Touring XT
Finally, you have the Outback Touring XT, which offers the same performance specs as the trim above.
This trim level also comes with the SUBARU STARLINK™ 11.6-inch Multimedia Navigation infotainment system. You have a built-in and voice-activated navigation system. You'll get easy-to-follow directions, and everything will be heard clearly through the 12-speaker Harman Kardon® Premium Audio System (also standard on the Limited XT).
Plus, like all the other trims in the Outback lineup, this one comes with EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology. In this suite, you'll find features like Lane Keep Assist and Pre-Collision Braking. As a result, you'll be able to stay safely within your lane as you drive.
