Subaru Outback: Standard Safety Features

The engineers of the 2022 Subaru Outback know that safety is the most important thing. That's why EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology is offered on all trim levels across the board. EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology is a comprehensive suite of safety features. This suite uses advanced cameras and sensors to monitor a range around your SUV.

When a potential hazard-like another vehicle or a pedestrian-is detected, you'll receive an alert. That way, you can make any necessary adjustments to prevent a collision. To provide extra help, some features may step in and provide automatic assistance in an attempt to keep you out of harm's way.

In the event a collision occurs, you can trust the available STARLINK® Safety and Security system (standard on all trims above the base Outback) will enable you to get the help you need thanks to the Automatic Collision Notification. With this feature, you'll be connected to a 24-hour response center when a collision is detected. They can use your vehicle's location to send necessary responders, including Roadside Assistance.

Subaru Outback Base Trim

First up is the Subaru Outback. This base trim level is anything but ordinary for many reasons, one of which is because of the beast found under the hood. The Subaru Outback comes with a 2.5L SUBARU BOXER® 4-cylinder engine, offering up to 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque.

With so much power, you may find yourself taking the long way home from work. Thankfully, the Subaru Outback is quite fuel efficient, achieving an EPA-estimated 26 city/33 highway MPG. Couple this efficiency with its 18.5-gallon fuel tank, and you can travel up to 610 miles without needing to refuel.

Plus, this trim level comes standard with Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD), allowing you to take on any road surface with confidence. This AWD powertrain perfectly distributes power between the front and rear wheels so you can seamlessly travel on low-traction roads.

Space is plentiful in the Outback, for both people and their gear, too.

Thank to these dimensions, both first- and second-row passengers will have plenty of room to stretch out and feel relaxed on even the longest commute. Plus, even with a full cabin, you'll have plenty of room for groceries, backpacks and other after-school equipment, and even a few weekend bags for a getaway.

Subaru Outback Premium

The Outback is already a very comfortable vehicle, but the Outback Premium kicks the comfort features up a notch.

This trim has a 10-way power adjustable driver's seat so you can easily get situated behind the wheel. It also comes with heated front seats to help you get cozy on particularly chilly mornings. The dual-zone climate control system further helps increase your comfort by allowing you and your front-seat passenger to independently set and adjust your preferred temperature settings.

The Subaru Outback comes standard with a comprehensive multimedia system, but the Subaru Outback Premium trim level enhances this multimedia system with the STARLINK® Multimedia Plus system, which adds features like:

Subaru Outback Limited

The Outback Limited is where you'll find leather-trimmed upholstery along with heated front and rear seats.

On top of these amenities, the Subaru Outback Limited trim level offers several convenience features to your SUV, such as:

This trim level is equipped with a 2.4L turbocharged SUBARU BOXER® 4-cylinder engine.

On top of more power, this engine also allows you to bring even more along for the ride thanks to its 3,500-pound maximum towing capacity when properly equipped.

Subaru Outback Touring

In the Subaru Outback Touring trim level, you and your passengers are treated to a premium comfort experience thanks to the many upgrades this trim offers. Some of these comfort additions include:

• Heated and ventilated front seats
• Nappa leather upholstery
• Power tilt/sliding moonroof

This trim is equipped with a STARLINK® Multimedia Navigation system. Similar to the multimedia suite offered with the Subaru Outback Limited trim level, this system features an 11.6-inch multimedia touchscreen. The latest addition is the high-resolution GPS navigation system.

With this feature, getting from Point A to Point B has never been easier thanks to the turn-by-turn capabilities of this navigation system.

More Power With the Subaru Outback Touring XT Trim

Similar to the Outback Limited XT trim level, the Touring XT trim level takes the features you love about the Touring trim level and gives it a boost with the 2.4L turbocharged SUBARU BOXER® engine.

Subaru Outback Wilderness

If you're the type of person who loves adventuring into the unknown, the Subaru Outback Wilderness trim level is perfect for you. The first model of the new Wilderness family, this trim level makes exploring easier than ever. With its elevated ground clearance of 9.5 inches, you can climb over rocks and other off-roading material.
