Subaru
offers plenty of SUVs in its lineup. For the 2021 model year, though,
the Subaru Ascent is the only standard 3-row SUV. Not only does it give
you plenty of passenger seating, but it also has lots of cargo room,
among other impressive features.
Due to everything it offers, it may be a great option for your family in Wakefield, Reading, or Danvers, MA. To help you decide, we created this Subaru Ascent interior review.

2021 Subaru Ascent Interior
The 2021 Subaru Ascent offers seating for up to eight people among three rows of seats. There's plenty of room for all, as shown in the following interior dimensions:
- Headroom (first/second/third row):Â 41.3/40/36.3 inches
- Legroom (first/second/third row):Â 42.2/38.6/31.7 inches
- Shoulder room (first/second/third row):Â 61.1/60.3/57.2 inches
If you don't need seating for eight, then opt for the second-row captain's chairs. That'll bring seating capacity down to seven and will offer a bit more elbow room between the middle-row passengers.
Not only will you have enough room for your whole family, but for their belongings as well. Inside the Subaru Ascent, there's 47.5 cubic feet of cargo volume when the third row is down. Fold down both the second and third rows, and you'll have 86.5 cubic feet of cargo volume to work with.
2021 Subaru Ascent: Cabin Amenities
Regardless of how many people are riding in the 2021 Subaru Ascent, everyone onboard should feel nice and relaxed.
Luckily, this SUV offers plenty of creature comforts, such as available leather upholstery and an optional power tilt/sliding panoramic glass moonroof. Stain-resistant cloth upholstery is available as well. So, if your kids accidentally make a mess, you can quickly and easily clean it up.
In addition, heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, and a heated steering wheel are available. So, no matter what the temperature is outside, you can stay comfy inside.
Tri-zone automatic climate control is a useful feature that comes standard. You, the front passenger, and those in the back can select your preferred temperature setting. No one needs to stay too hot or too cold on any commute, so everyone can be happy.
2021 Subaru Ascent: High-Tech Features
Another way that everyone can be happy is through the various technologies offered in the Subaru Ascent.
It comes standard with a STARLINK™ Multimedia Plus infotainment system. With this feature, you'll also get a trial subscription to SiriusXM® Satellite Radio, which gives you access to over 100 music, sports, and news channels to listen to.
However, if you prefer to listen to your own music, use the standard Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ smartphone integration feature. Plug your phone into the vehicle's USB port, and your favorite apps will appear on the standard 6.5-inch or available 8-inch display screen. You can then access all of them without playing around with your phone while driving.
Then, there's the standard 6-speaker sound system and available 14-speaker Harman Kardon® Quantum Surround Sound audio system. With either system, you'll be able to hear your music or phone calls in crystal-clear quality.
